When we bought the car one inner wing was mostly rusted out, and had been badly patched with fibreglass which was well on the way to falling though to the road. The other had been badly welded and was rusting. Both bumper mounts had rusted out and had been repaired with a single thickness of plate with the bumpers simply bolted through. We decided to get it all properly repaired rather than bodge it again. In the end it turned into a general front end restoration. Work done included:

In these pictures you can see bits of yellow : these are good panels we cut out of our '72 parts car before it was scrapped. The whole offside inner wing around the petrol filler hole also came from this car.
